From April 2016 any tenant living in a property rated E or below can request their landlord to make the required improvements as stated on their Energy Performance Certificate and the landlord has an obligation to do so.
From April 2018 it will be illegal to let a property rated below an E. We recommend landlords start acting on their recommendations made on their EPC now to avoid a long void period in the future, while the works that need to be done are carried out.
